Dardanelle High School has now been ranked as one of the nation's best for FIVE years in a row by US News and World Report. USNWR studied all U.S. schools through a Standard and Poor's examination service. The first criteria was test performance. The second was how well economically disadvantaged students and minority students did on the tests. Some 28,000 high schools were studied---all schools in the country with sufficient data to study.  38 schools in Arkansas made the ranking of the nation's best. Two of the 38, got the silver award (Bentonville and Marked Tree). The other 36 got the bronze award.) DHS has been ranked in 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011. One year DHS was the silver award classification. No other school in Yell County was awarded.
